Terms of sale and use

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. The French version is the reference text.

1. The seller

This website and the courses it offers are provided by Philippe Billon, 256, rue Principale, Armagh (QC) G0R 1A0, telephone 581 888-7082, email formation@sanstranchee.ca, Quebec enterprise number (NEQ) 2266051251.

2. User account

An account is required to buy and take a module. It is personal: a purchase gives access to one person only, the account holder, and cannot be shared. You agree to provide accurate information, in particular your name and your employer’s name, which appear on the certificate of completion.

3. Modules, prices and taxes

Each module is an online course made up of slides and a quiz. Its description, training duration and price are shown on its page. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude taxes, which are calculated according to the province of the billing address. The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of purchase.

4. Payment and invoice

Payment is made by card on the secure page of our payment provider, Stripe; no card data is stored on this website. An invoice detailing the taxes is sent by email upon payment and remains available in your account. A company that prefers to pay by bank transfer or cheque may request it at formation@sanstranchee.ca: access opens as soon as the registration is confirmed. In-person group training is quoted separately (see the “Companies” page).

5. Access

Access to the module opens as soon as payment is confirmed, for a period of 30 days. When it expires, the content is no longer accessible, but certificates earned and course notes remain available for download. Your progress is kept if you buy the module again.

6. Quiz and certificate

The quiz unlocks once all the slides have been viewed. The pass mark is shown on the module page; the quiz may be retaken during the access period. Passing it entitles you to a certificate of completion stating, among other things, the participant’s name, their employer’s name, the module title, its duration and the date of completion. Each certificate bears a code that allows a third party to verify its authenticity on this website. A certificate obtained by fraud or by using another person’s account may be revoked.

Whether training hours meet the requirements of a professional order, association or employer is for those bodies to determine.

7. Cancellation and refund

You may request cancellation of your purchase and a full refund by email to formation@sanstranchee.ca within 7 days of purchase, provided you have not passed the quiz. The refund is issued to the payment method used within 15 days of the request, and access to the module is withdrawn. These terms are in addition to, and do not limit, the rights granted to consumers by Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act.

8. Intellectual property

The content of the modules (text, slides, diagrams, quizzes) and the course notes are protected by copyright. They are reserved for the personal use of the account holder. Copying, recording, distributing them or using them to deliver training without written permission is prohibited. Third-party images are used for educational purposes and remain the property of their authors.

9. Scope of the training

The modules provide general knowledge and lessons learned in the field. They do not replace a geotechnical investigation, an engineering design or professional advice on a specific project. The seller cannot be held liable for decisions made solely on the basis of the course content.

10. Website availability

We do our best to keep the website available at all times, but interruptions may occur (maintenance, outages). If an extended interruption prevents you from completing a module during your access period, contact us: your access will be extended accordingly.

11. Changes, governing law

These terms may be amended; the applicable version is the one in effect at the time of purchase. They are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
